I am an Andean Soul. I resonate with the mountains, the lakes, the trees, and the subtle spirits of the little piece of the Earth where I landed. What I have learned and added are tools for this essence to emerge, and to foster a deep encounter with the unique expression of wisdom in everybody’s soul.
I was born in the Magical Andes in Quito, Ecuador and lived there for 37 years. I have a decade of experience practicing as a therapist in Ecuador with individuals, couples, and families. I am also an experienced teacher and have taught numerous classes on the Process Work Paradigm, covering everything from dream work to relationship work, body symptom work, trauma work, and more. I am soon to become a PW Diplomate through the Process Work Institute in Portland. Additionally, I am a coach and facilitator of group processes and conflict work.
While living in South America, I trained as a shaman for two decades with the traditional Maestros, Taytas y Mamas, and numerous other wisdom-holders and medicine practitioners in Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. These mentors are the traditional philosophers and psychologists of their respective indigenous groups. My desire to bring the wisdom of the Amazon and the Sierras to mainstream cultures lead me to the field of psychology. I became a researcher, therapist, and educator and practiced in Ecuador for 13 years before moving to Portland, OR, where I now reside with my wife.
In my private practice, I support individuals, couples, and families from many parts of the world to navigate their inner landscapes and outer journeys. My approach is non-pathologizing and non-clinical: rather than focusing on diagnosis and symptom reduction, I focus on the development of awareness to tap into your unique nature and full-potential.
In Spanish, I offer a weekly Relationship Lab where I examine the complexities of relationship, be it with intimate partners, family, friends, or society.
Based in more than 20 years of training and experience, I also support people with the most challenging aspect of power-plant work: integration of experience and insight into daily life.
My deepest desire is to support the indigenous wisdom that belongs to the living traditions from many parts of the planet. At the same time, I firmly believe that this wisdom is native to all of us, encoded in the DNA of every cell in each individual. Although developed cultures and urban life have moved far from this innate wisdom, I hold deep hope that the awakening of this dormant knowledge—integrated with modern ways of life—could help create a future for all of us in which human beings are the stewards of Nature, in all its wisdom and complexity.
